It’s great to look fashionable but wearing something that you’ll never abandon is fabulous.

1. Bling

You know you’re addicted when you’ve almost reached your destination, the rain is pissing it down and you still turn back home for the missing wear. Maybe it’s because I was 6 months old when my ears were first pierced but without my five studs, I feel naked. I wear gold earrings, a daith hoop, a tragus piercing and a diamante nose stud. Pure gold pendants hang from my necklace. One, a Christian cross made in Trinidad, gifted from my Grandma and an Egyptian ankh that represents life, from my mum. The materials are valuable but what my jewellery represents is priceless.

2. Aaliyah Vs Urban Outfitters

A classic puffer coat that I won in a retail, boxing ring. Imagine, one coat. Online? Sold out. Other stores? Gone. Remaining size? Mine. Then, I found out it was reserved by a member of staff that I worked with. I waited two weeks, pining after the coat that taunted me to rip off the reserve label and give it a home. Thankfully, the fight was worth it, and my nagging wore them down.

3. Made with love

Woven with gold and turquoise thread is a scarf of cultural memories. On my 13th birthday my dad surprised me with a holiday to Málaga. I skipped school and felt like I was committing a crime worthy of her Majesty’s prison. It was fantastic. I’m a January baby and the weather wasn’t always sunshine. One wet, windy day I found a market full of handcrafted fabrics. Swaying outside was a beautiful scarf that I knew I had to have.

4. Cinderella’s slipper… if she was a lil’ street

Exclusivity is key when you’re a trainer lover (aka sneakers). Copped in Canada, gifted in Vegas and flown to the UK are my, Nike Air Forces. These shoes ALWAYS fit my feet which fluctuate between a size 4-5. The comfiest, easiest wear to co-ordinate with any outfit. If I’m heading to Uni or a casual night out these are my go-to kicks.

5. An unforgettable aroma

I was 16 when I marched into Debenhams asking for the manager. After an hour of going through my inexperienced CV, I was given a trial shift on a beauty and fragrance counter. A year later, I was a qualified team member. A fierce scent in a plum, velvet box with gold lettering stole my attention. D&G Intense was my first free perk and I’m still obsessed with it.
