After a great customer experience in the Lush Exeter store I was convinced to try out a natural face mask to improve my skin and reduce my face oils.

Cupcake is a fusion of Rhassol Mud, mint, cocoa butter and cocoa powder. Each ingredient is intended to create an overall deep cleansing effect, removing dirt leaving the skin feeling silky soft and moisturised. Full of natural ingredients, this mask must be kept in a fridge or chilled environment.

The 75ml pot is priced at £9, quite high but there are many uses from the product because the layer of applied doesn't have to be a lot. I always leave face masks on for longer than the time suggested purely because I have quite oily skin and this works best for me but the advised time is generally 10-15 minutes. During the wait period there is no 'feeling' of it working as it's different to a lot of my usual masks that are charcoal or peeling textured. It doesn't harden to much but it does dry.

After removing the mask I definitely felt a change in the texture of my skin, it felt a smoother and the oils on my T-zone were reduced. One of the qualities about this mask is it brings out impurities like spots or bacteria to the surface of your skin, which then clear up. It's more of a mask to do two days before any big event or night out because it does clear your skin but during this process any breakouts will be visible.
I would recommend this mask because of how natural it is, it's easy to apply and I did see results instantly. However, I wouldn't say it's a favourite of mine and it isn't as intense as other masks I have tried or gives as quick results. I am still using it and as my first mud-based mask I can say its a success from Lush!
