Photos taken on my phone and DSLR showing a couple things that I got up to in 'Sin City' on my 21st birthday...
Welcome to Vegas baby!
Going to the famous Vegas sign is a must and just so you know its not really near the strip! But there is a photographer there who will help you take the perfect picture up close and if you're prepared to wait in the queue you can get a face on photo.
The Strip // T-Pain
The strip really is THE STRIP. None of this 15 min walk or anything... more like 2-3 hours, it's great and there are so many hotels, bars and clubs to explore! Each with its own theme and personal touch. The clubs and bars are all free entry as well as long as you get your name on the guest list and get in before 12, yay!
Top of the World restaurant on my 21st
Here is where I discovered my love for lobster which I had twice from this beautiful restaurant. You really are on top of the world and its spinning movement allows you to see the entire city. The food is amazing and they do a great lunch time deal of a 3 course meal.
Vibes at The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower
This hotel was great. The actual tower part is full of spas, bars, food spots and its very own roller-coaster rides at the top. You can also bungee jump off the tower - after just turning 21 I wasn't ready to risk that one. My favourite roller-coaster has to be the pier straight up and drop ride. My heart literally came out and moved around a little bit!
Just Some Food
Nacho Daddy was a recommendation from a local and wow it came through. Cheap prices but a HEAP of options and potion sizes are always extreme. Next time I would order one plate to share but its a really chill place to go to with a sports bar and good music (pic 1-2). Le Thai, Le Thai... LE THAI. One of my favourite spots ever to this day. You need to go and taste the 3 colour curry (pic 3-5). It's authentic, local and has a really nice atmosphere. Dessert wise, you can't order food without trying their fried banana and sticky rice combo. The Chicago Food house serves up a bunch of things but I ordered a chili hot dog, I wasn't that impressed to be honest but I did get to try Berry Fanta which was a dream. The Hash House, good prices and food to make your belly pop (pic 7). Gordon Ramsay's Burger restaurant lived up to expectations. I had a spicy burger and it was delicious, doing us Brits all proud (last pic).
The O Show! (AMAZING) // The Venetian
I still have feels when I think about watching The O Show and I can only describe it as a magnificent, extraordinary mind-blowing experience. It will have you laughing, crying, everything. I would see this again and again. Featuring fire, water, acrobatic performances, acting, live music and magic. The Venetian is a hotel inspired by Venice and it has the prettiest interior with an inside food market area and angelic artwork that covers the ceilings of the walls.
Cannabition Cannabis Museum // Peppermill Fireside Lounge
A fairly new addition to Vegas. #Cannabition is the exhibition of Cannabis, based on Fremont Street. Its a fun day out activity and with a guided tour you'll learn all about it. Its more than a museum, its interactive and features some really cool monuments. Peppermill, known for its tasty food serves (like many other places) the BIG-GEST portions for the cheapest prices. For those wanting to chill out after a big meal they have this really cool lounge bar where you can sip on cocktails next to a fire under fluorescence lighting.
First Legal drink at the 107 Sky Lounge
Here I had just turned 21 and as you can see I was posing away with my legally bought drink! Above The Top of the World restaurant is the 107 Sky Lounge. It's cosy and you'll see views from even higher at night. The city will look like a sea of twinkling lights.
Fremont Street
Advised by locals, this is their version of the strip. The same as the main strip but cheaper, better quality stuff (in most cases) and has more of a family friendly vibe. GRAB YOUR SOUVENIRS HERE! Everything here is way cheaper and the same as all the flashy things you can purchase at all the hotels. You can zip wire through the town and there is live music from buskers on every corner of the street.
Hoover Dam // Route 66
A trip to the real desert life of Arizona. Hoover dam is a peaceful visit where you may spot mountain goats climbing around you. I took a tour with GC Tours and our tour guide Wally was the best! We made a stop at Route 66, a small town in the middle of nowhere. It was so deserted, I could literally picture the Tumbleweed rolling past. It was really good and there are is always the chance you'll be offered a horse ride by one of the locals.
The Grand Canyon
The finale and one of the greatest wonders you'll see in your life. The Grand Canyon is picture perfect, it looks like a postcard and it's hard to imagine its real even when you are there. There are a range of view points and you may even see a few Moose.
