BBC Radio 5 Live: Interview on solo travel 🎙️
It’s 11pm-ish on a Thursday, and I’ve just left a spontaneous drinks night with two lovely girls I met while travelling through Italy’s Dolomites... which feels like a pretty good place to start this story 😂🇮🇹
You might have seen that I recently wrote for The Independent about how a cancelled holiday accidentally turned me into a solo traveller. What started as me being VERY reluctantly forced to travel alone eventually became 40+ cities, countless new friends and one of my favourite things to do. 🫶🏽
After it went live, BBC Radio 5 Live reached out after reading it and asked me to come on air to talk about it. So, naturally, I ended up doing a radio interview from my hotel room in the Alps. 😅🎙️
Finding out the story had made The Independent Travel desk’s top three performers (when it's often straight news) was a pretty surreal way to round it all off, too. 🚀
